"Seest thou not that My House is in ruins?"

Hey, guys.  This site is my own tiny attempt to contribute to the building of the One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church--she who is forever dying and being reborn.  In the end it's Jesus Who will save us all; but in the meantime, it's our business to do what is in us to carry on the great battle for the souls of you and me and everyone we'll meet today and all God's children wherever they may be.  So:  let's saddle up, and may some word of mine throw a bit of light upon your path.

Finding Our Apostolate In The Mystical Body of Christ

Teach, write, paint, sing, dance, cook, clean, drive, live, love, solve equations, blow stuff up:  whatsoever you do, do to the Glory of God.  All things work to the good, for those who love Him.

We can do no great things--only little things with great love.

Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta.  I try to keep those words in mind.  God doesn't need or want all of us to fight in wars or walk in heathen lands to spread the Gospel; most of us have quieter vocations, like baking bread or shoveling snow.  As long as we offer up our day to Him, we're still bringing grace into the world.  We're all called to be saints, and the virtues we make of necessity are the best ones of all.  They're the ones that we know have been assigned to us.  If we stick to our still, small daily crosses (and Lord knows I don't do this very well myself, but I can see the Heaven-light just a little more clearly on the rare days when I do), it's like giving Satan a flying back-spin kick right to the ever-lovin' head.  And also, it's good for everyone's souls.  Love and virtue, plus flying back-spin kicks.  Why in the crap isn't everyone Catholic?

Holy Spirit, Secret Fire--guide my hands and heart to Your will, in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
